HealthExpress is located in Scripps Coastal Medical Center San Marcos, off Highway 78 and Twin Oaks Valley Road in the North City area of San Marcos. Download and print a map of our campus (PDF, 370 KB).


Our same-day, walk-in clinic provides care for a number of communities in North County San Diego, including North City San Marcos, San Elijo, Escondido, Valley Center and Fallbrook. Onsite free parking is available.

Walk-in clinic services and payment options

Scripps HealthExpress accepts most health insurance plans, and your visit is billed to your insurance plan as a primary care office visit (excluding sports and camp physicals), as well as any tests in the office. These charges may include things such as rapid strep test, blood glucose and X-rays. If additional tests or X-rays are needed, you will be billed separately.


When you are paying out-of-pocket or making a co-pay, we accept credit cards, cash and checks.

  • Minor injuries


Vaccinations/Immunizations

  • COVID-19

  • Meningitis B

  • Flu for ages 6 months to 64 years
  • High-dose flu for 65 years and older
  • Pneumococcal vaccine

  • Tdap


Point-of-care testing (Point-of-care testing is only conducted with an office visit.)

  • Fingerstick blood sugar
  • Pregnancy (urine)
  • Rapid strep
  • Rapid flu
  • TB skin test


Sports and camp physicals

  • Sports and camp physicals (excluding labs)

Scripps accepts most insurance plans, and your visit (excluding physicals) will be billed to your insurance as a primary care office visit. If you decide to pay out-of-pocket for your visit, we accept cash, check or a credit card at the point of care.

Scripps HealthExpress provides convenient same-day care, with in-person and telemedicine visits.
